The Lord’s Prayer (for His Disciples)

The Lord’s Prayer (for His Disciples)

Matthew 6:9–15 (NLT)

(Jesus said to His disciples,) “Pray like this:

Our Father (Who are) in heaven,

may Your name be kept holy (hallowed be Your name)

May Your Kingdom come …soon.

May Your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins,

…as we have forgiven those, who sin against us.

And don’t let us yield to temptation,

…but rescue us from the evil one.

(…and Jesus told us)

If you forgive those who sin against you,

your heavenly Father will forgive you.

But if you refuse to forgive others,

your Father will not forgive your sins…”

1 Chronicles 29:11–15 (NLT)

(We learn how to complete our prayers to the Lord, our God)…

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours, O Lord, and this is Your kingdom. We adore You as the One who is over all things.

Wealth and honor come from You alone, for You rule over everything.

Power and might are in Your hand, and at Your discretion people are made great and given strength.

(…or humbled and made weak.)

“O our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious Name…

(Yahweh - Jehovah)!

But who am I, and who are my people,

...that we could give anything to You?

Everything we have has come from You,

...and we give You only what You first gave us!

We are here, for only a moment,

...visitors and strangers, in the land,

...as our ancestors, were before us.

Our days on earth are like a passing shadow,

...gone so soon without a trace…”

From the Christian Bible…

God’s Word for God’s people.

Praise be to God!
